INSTITUTIONALIZED, HOPE AND FREEDOM
"But I tell you these walls are funny. First you hate them. Then you get used to them. Enough time passes……you get so you depend on them. That's “institutionalized”."
"Let me tell you something, my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane. "
"Remember, Red……hope is a good thing……maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies."
澳门太阳成2007网站，Are you institutionalized? Do you remember your dream in childhood, in studenthood? Maybe it was hard for you to live, you had to give ways to the harsh life. Just as what Red said, at the beginning you hate them, then you tried and used to them, and as time as passed, you got not to leave them. You are institutionalized. Can you give a redemption?
God! Few people could have hope in his mind for nearly 20 years in a harsh environment, he insisted on doing meaning things, he strived, he succeeded.
Freedom is not an easy goal to reach. Why Andy could make it? In the film, It was Andy's redempiton. If not Shawshank, Andy might have a smooth life: he married another beautiful woman who loved a third man because of Andy's character, or Andy might get old lonely. The capital would be in a long-time poor as he knew little about tax. Red would be like Brook , was completely institutionalized, completed his life in the prison.
Who knows? Life is justness, anytime full of hope in the mind, you will get freedom at last. But, 19 or 40-year-life in prison was too long to endure, who can keep a clean mind and still in the original mind?
